MONTGOMERY Al – We always enjoy attending the Capital Cool Classic and this years third edition lived up to all the expectations. Below is a list of top performers.

All Alabama
Maori Davenport PF/C
Maori is an athletic center who uses her size to dominate the court on both ends of the floor. She posts big and uses a variety of moves to put the ball in the basket. Her length makes her a beast on the backboards, where she is good for a double-double nightly. She also uses her length to block shots, and makes it tough for her opponents to get good looks around the basket. She also draws a lot of fouls around the basket, and can step up to the line and knock down her FTs.

Alabama Southern Starz
– Camryn Crider SG
Camryn is a shooter. Any open look she has at the basket, she usually will knock down. She understands her game and sprints the floor well, to give herself the opportunity for open shots. She is also good at finding teammates after she is chased off the 3pt line.

Claire Holt >PG
Claire is a PG who has a very high basketball IQ. Her ball handling allows her to get by defenders and either get to the rim, or set teammates up with open looks. She has no problem knocking down midrange jump shots or 3 pointers. She can also finish in the pant through defenders after she gets to the cup.

Haley Troup SG
Haley is a knock down spot up shooter, but that is only one way she can hurt her opponents. Not only can she shoot from range, but she can also beat her defender off the dribble and finish at the cup. Her midrange jump shot is just as deadly as her 3pt shot, but she can also create open looks for her teammates off the dribble.

Jasmine Gracie SF/PF
Jasmine is a high motor player who competes for every loose ball and rebound. Her aggressiveness leads to opportunities for her teammates that they may not have gotten without her. She drives the lane tough, and can finish at the cup through contact. She also draws a lot of fouls and gets to the line multiple times each game.

Karleigh Sledge PF
Karleigh is a forward who posts very big, and can finish around the cup with either hand. She attacks the ball aggressively off the backboard on both ends of the floor, which leads to a lot of boards. She uses that same aggressiveness to contest and block many of her opponents’ shots at the defensive end of the floor.

Moriah Taylor PG/SG
Moriah is a very quick combo guard, with good court vision. She uses that court vision to set her teammates up with easy looks. She also uses her quickness to create space from defenders, and can bury jump shots from anywhere on the floor. She is very aggressive on the defensive end, which cause opponents to turn the ball over frequently.

Myah Taylor PG
Myah is a speedy point guard who looks to set her teammates up before she looks for her own shots. Her ball handling, quickness, and court vision make it easy for her to blow by defenders and find open teammates. She can also score when she needs to. She can do this by either knocking down jumpers or getting to the rack and finishing at the rim. On the defensive end she plays suffocating defense which makes it tough for opponents to run their offense.

Skyla Knight PG/SG
Skyla is a guard who has the skillset to play either point guard or off the ball. At point guard she sets teammates up with good open looks at the basket. At shooting guard she can knock down midrange jumpers and 3pt shots as well. She also has a quick first step and gets to the cup where she can finish through contact.

Unique Thompson PF/C 6-2
Unique is a big that has multiple ways to put the ball in the cup. She has a variety of post moves she can use on the block, and knocks down midrange jumpers with consistency as well. She draws a lot of fouls around the bucket, and can step to the line and knock down her FTs. She uses her size to dominate the backboards. Her scoring ability and rebounding makes her good for a double-double nightly. She also use her length to contest and block opponents shot attempts.

Blazers Exposure
Ariyah Copeland C 6-4
Ariyah is a center who uses her size to post big, and she can finish when she get the ball on the block. She also can find teammates out of the post if the shot is not there for her. She draws a lot of contact down low, where she can finish through it, and then step to the line and hit FTs. She is very aggressive on the glass on both ends of the floor.

Team Elite
Kayla Pointer PG
Kayla is a very quick point guard that has a first step that leaves defenders behind. Her ball handling and quickness make her hard to stay in front of. After she blows by her defender, she often sets her teammates up with the good looks at open shots. She can also finish in the paint, with either hand. Kayla can also knock down jump shots from anywhere on the court.

Kiah Williams PF
Kiah is a forward who uses size and an assortment of post moves to score from the block. She also shows the strength to finish through contact, and then steps to the line and knock down her FTs. She uses her court vision and basketball IQ to find open teammates out of the post for open looks. She can also step outside the paint and knock down midrange jumpers with consistency.
She is also a relentless rebounder who crashes the boards hard every time.

Taylor Mason PG/SG
Taylor is a guard who has the ability to run the point or the two guard. She drives the lane hard but shows a soft touch at the rim to score. She finishes through contact, and the steps to the line and makes her FTs. She seems to enjoy getting to the cup more than shooting, but can knock down midrange jumpers as well. She also sets her teammates up with quality looks, when defenses collapse on her. On the defensive end, she plays the passing lanes well, as well as having very tough on ball pressure.

Essence
Jasmine Carson SG
Jasmine is a knockdown spot up shooter, who can also get to the rim when she is overplayed. She does a good job at finding open spots on the floor where her teammates can get it to her for open looks. On the defensive end she constantly pressures opponents with tough on ball defense. She is also good, at playing the passing lanes, which leads to a lot of steals for her teams.

Lanetta Williams PF/C
Lanetta is a very athletic forward who can handle the ball on the perimeter, as well as score from outside. She has good ball handling skills, which allows her to beat defenders off the dribble and get to the basket. She uses her athleticism to sprint the floor well which leads to a lot of layups. She also has a very strong post game, with a variety of moves to beat defenders on the block. She contests or blocks a lot of her opponents’ shots, and she is very aggressive attacking the boards.

Reniyah Davis PF
Reniyah is another very athletic forward who has a combination of ways to score. She uses her athleticism and length to crash boards, block shots, and come up with 50/50 balls. On the offensive end she can knock down mid-range jumpers, and step outside the line and knock down 3s. She also uses her ball handling abilities to get to the rim, where she can finish through contact.

FBC
Bria Harmon PG
Bria is a very explosive point guard, with great court vision. Even though she is a good shooter, she is a very willing passer, who sets her teammates up with open looks. She uses her explosiveness to blow by her defender, and then has the ability to finish at the rim. On the defensive end she constantly pressures the ball making it tough on her opponents, and forcing turnovers.

Des Conner PG
Des is a hard nose point guard who gives her all every second she is on the floor. She drives the lane aggressively and has the ability to finish in the paint with the trees. She also is not bothered by contact when she drives it to the cup. Her quickness allows her to beat her defender and then find teammates for good looks at the basket. She can also knock down jump shots from the outside. She is just as tough on the defensive end, where tenacious ball pressures leads to her getting many steals.

Team Penny
Tesia Thompson PG/SG
Tesia is a suffocating defender, who can finish in transition after she has forced a turnover. She has a quick first step which allows her to beat her defender, and finish at the cup with either hand. She uses her ball handling to create space and knock down jumpers over her defenders. She knocks down set shots with consistency, as well as her free throws when she gets to the line.
