DENVER, COLORADO – Triple Crown Sports is a household name when it comes to women’s basketball, best known for the WNIT (Women’s National Invitational Tournament) preseason and postseason. As well as the Cancun Challenge. Triple Crown venture into high school girls’ grassroots basketball has upped the ante on how events are ran. Triple Crown has top notch facilities along with a professionally ran events, which includes shot clocks on every court, player stats for every game, quality officials, with affordable prices for teams and fans. Our personal favorite is Veterans and children 12 and under receive free admission. Family and friends can also catch their favorite players and teams via livestream. Triple Crown is clearly taking steps to help grow the game. We had the pleasure of checking out the action at this year’s Colorado’s Finest Basketball Exhibition with teams representing over 7 states with over 30 D2 and junior college coaches in attendance. Several players caught and kept our eye here is several standouts:

Kylee Blacksten 2020 6-4 Guard-Forward BC Denver 17U UAA-CO – Long athletic, good command of her dribble with excellent court vision and good passer, rebounds well both ends, solid defender, pushes ball up the floor, shoots it well midrange out to 3 point line, European type game.

Landri Hudson 2020 5-11 Guard BC Denver 17U UAA-CO – Athletic guard attacks on both ends, KNOCK DOWN SHOOTER, superior on and off the ball defender that defends at high level and excels in transition, high energy player. Fun to watch.

Tomia Johnson 2020 5-7 PG BC Denver 17U UAA-CO – Solid point guard takes care of the rock, disruptive defender, excellent court vision and passer, High IQ, attack and finishes at the rim, streaky 3 point shooter, Athletic lead-guard flourishes in up-tempo game, jet-quick with extra-gear speed in transition game, creates and scores from turnovers.

Jana Van Gytenbeek 2020 5-7 PG CBC Adidas Elite – CO – Floor general great handles, creates and distributes in transition game; half-court manager delivers off the dribble, penetrates and kicks, executes in half-court game; game manager, unselfish, nice stroke midrange to 3pt arc. Stanford commit.

Cali Clark 2020 6-3 Forward CBC Adidas Elite – CO – College frame runs the floor, finishes well in the paint with either hand, and rebounds well both ends, nice face up game. Solid defender.

Sydney Bevington 2020 6-1 Wing B&B Academy 11th Elite Black-CO – Long athletic, good hands, loves to attack finishes well or draws fouls, rebounds well, nice midrange pull up jumper, very aggressive, will out work her opponent.

Payton Muma 2020 5-7 Guard CBC Adidas Elite –CO – athletic scrappy active PG battles at both ends, loves to jump passing lanes, nice pull up jumper, solid defender. Competes.

Alexa Borter 2021 6-0 Wing Clutch Red – OR – Good size, fundamentally sound, does all the little things, blue collar player, defends well, and finishes in the paint with nice 3pt stroke.

Jayla Jones 2020 6-1 Forward Wyoming Beast Elite 17u- WY – Nice frame, rebounds well, runs floor, hustles, good job finishing in the paint, nice face up game, can step out and knock down the 3 ball, solid defender on perimeter and in the paint.

Nadia Trevizo Medina 2020 5-5 PG Denver Gators Elite 17u –CO- Solid PG does a great job probing the defense and making the correct play, excellent court vision and dime dropper, Knocks down the open 3 pointer, create for herself and teammates, hardnosed scrappy, small PG needs to add strength. Fun to watch.

Cindy Garcia 2020 6-0 Wing Denver Gators Elite 17u –CO – Athlete, love her energy battles on every possession, sprints the floor, rebounds extremely well at both ends, long athletic with all-around game, attacks off the bounce. Sleeper DI prospect.

Allie Hueckman 2021 5-8 Guard Flite – ID – Sweet 3pt stroke, good command of her dribble, loves to attack off bounce, good court vision and passer, long arms helps her be a solid on ball defender as well as help side.

Graci Kolka 2020 5-9 Guard Flite – ID – Will knock down the open trey, creates for herself and teammates, good handles, solid frame, likes to attack and finishes with contact, solid defender.

Juliana Aragon 2022 5-5 PG New Mexico Mustangs – A smooth lefty that can flat out play the point guard position, excellent command of her dribble, great court vision and passer, can fill it up beyond the arc but needs to work on a quicker release, attacks looking to drop dimes, good on and off the ball defender. Has a chance to be special.

Samantha Jones 2021 6-1 Forward PSB UA Rise – CO – College body, runs the floor well, solid defender, does good job in the pick and roll, decent handles attacks off the dribble and finishes in the paint.
